In fact my family at times making donations, I remember noting that a majority of the funds for WRPI is from the student body. Very little funds come from the "Friends of WRPI" fund-raising...

I should know because every time we or anyone else wanted to donate it was for a particular show and the non-RPI members put up a massive road-block regarding our wishes.

I am all for community radio and agree that it is what makes WRPI special, but I remember times when I was a high school student and even a college student at RPI dealing with a very hostile and unfriendly Non-RPI student community running and bullying the students in charge of WRPI.

So if a few people had to be booted, in order to get the message clear that this is a community radio station substantially subsidized by the student activity fees and tuition, by all means boot them.

They are guests of RPI.

Dr. Jackson's management style may be dictatorial at times, but at least she's getting the job done and ensuring more money is brought in for the benefit of the students, faculty, and administration.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5232450.post-71247337468340386732007-04-09T20:11:00.000-04:002007-04-09T20:11:00.000-04:00Why not change the world, Shirley?
